The intervention project reflects the guidelines defined by the Secondary School Modernisation Programme and meets the new requirements of the school’s educational project, contemporary teaching/learning models and current environmental quality and energy efficiency standards.
While the basic physical organisation of the existing building was retained, it was reorganised internally. The administrative and management areas were concentrated next to the main entrance, while the social spaces were moved next to the sports zone. The remaining areas were occupied by teaching spaces. The old library was converted into a staff room and the library was moved to the top floor above the main entrance. The cellar space of the gymnasium volume was lowered to make it possible to double the space available for sports. The terrace was also remodelled for the practice of sports.
The school grounds and exterior spaces were redesigned, allowing for better access conditions and increasing the permeable and tree-covered space.
