The intervention project reflects the guidelines defined by the Secondary School Modernisation Programme and meets the new requirements of the school’s educational project, contemporary teaching/learning models and current environmental quality and energy efficiency standards.
All the buildings were reorganised, using intensive interventions in construction and functional terms. The main preoccupation was to ensure perfect and complete interconnection between all the buildings.
The remodelled school now has 45 classrooms with a capacity for 870 daytime pupils and 700 night-time pupils. It also has 11 laboratories, an auditorium/multi-purpose hall, a library space, a gymnasium, a sports pavilion, a snack bar and canteen and work and relaxation spaces for both teachers and pupils.
A new building was erected and the school’s exterior spaces were redesigned to increase the permeable surface area and tree coverage.
