The intervention project reflects the guidelines defined by the Secondary School Modernisation Programme and meets the new requirements of the school’s educational project, contemporary teaching/learning models and current environmental quality and energy efficiency standards.
In addition to improving the conditions of use, management and maintenance of the school, its overall space was reorganised and a new three-storey body was built that interlinks the existing bodies, thus creating one single building. The new body houses the multipurpose hall/auditorium on the bottom floor and the laboratories and ICT rooms on the upper floors, and links directly to the library, canteen/snack bar and social areas for pupils. Its central location easily accessible from outside made it possible to house the complementary spaces so that they could function independently of the rest of the school.
The school grounds were redesigned, creating better access conditions, increasing the permeable and tree-covered area and regulating parking.
