The intervention project reflects the guidelines defined by the Secondary School Modernisation Programme and meets the new requirements of the school’s educational project, contemporary teaching/learning models and current environmental quality and energy efficiency standards.
The existing pavilions were interlinked through the addition of two new bodies that house teaching as well as non-teaching spaces and define a new entrance to the school.
What is now the entrance body houses the administrative spaces, library and multipurpose hall. The other interconnecting body adds to the teaching and informal study spaces, as well as providing teacher work spaces.
A completely new block, separate from the other pavilions, was also built to house vocational courses. It replaces the existing workshop building.
The sports pavilion was remodelled, with the construction of new shower/changing rooms and a gymnasium.
