In the context of the modernisation of the architectural heritage not allocated to secondary education, a protocol was signed with the Portuguese Tourist Board (Turismo de Portugal, IP) in June 2008 for the conversion of the former Machado de Castro (Lisbon) and Soares dos Reis (Porto) schools to Hospitality and Tourism Schools, with associated training hotels/academies.
Negotiations are currently underway for a new protocol with the same body for a technical assistance partnership for the construction of the new Hospitality and Tourism Schools in Setúbal and Santa Maria da Feira.
